Over 800 Pounds of Food Donated to Underserved Communities in New Jersey

Pride Resource Network led a residential-wide initiative to donate food during the holiday season. The food donated was distributed to help those from underserved communities. And those that are struggling during the pandemic. Residents of The Lenox were asked to donate food to reach a goal of 250 pounds. The donation clearly surpassed that with over 800 pounds.

“The donation will help towards much-needed community involvement,” said Monalisa Prasad, a resident of The Lenox. “This is an unprecedented time. We want to do what we can to contribute to the communities that need us.”

Wendy Grullon, Commissioner for Public Works in Union City, NJ visited residents of The Lenox to thank them for their dedication to the community. Grullon, who has been in the midst of delivering turkeys with Mayor Brian Stack took time to meet residents during donation pick up.

The Lenox partnered with Our Community Dinner Table, a New Jersey-based nonprofit. Our Community Dinner Table picked up the food donation from The Lenox on Wednesday, November 25th at 6 pm. They have been feeding those in need since the beginning of the pandemic in March. Our Community Dinner Table has given out over 500 meals to-date.
